Oven Barbecued Chicken Drumsticks

Do you have 1 hour and do not know what to cook for dinner? I have a solution – barbecued chicken drumsticks! This is a not too sweet Barbeque sauce that everyone loves!

Prep time: 30 minutes
Bake time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Total time: 60 minutes
Yield: 3 servings

Ingredients:

  • 900 g (2 lb) chicken drumsticks
  • 240 mL (1 cup) warm milk
  • 40 mL (~1/4 cup) unsalted butter (melted)
  • 80 g (~1/3 cup) BBQ sause
  • 80 g (~1/3 cup) ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil for marinade
  • Olive oil for grilling
  • Black pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and melted unsalted butter, add 1 1/2 tsp salt and black pepper to taste. Add washed chicken drumsticks and leave for 30 minutes or more.
  2. After 30 minutes, in a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients, except chicken drumstick, and stir well. Put on medium heat, bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes until sugar is completely dissolved. Reserve 1/3 cup of sauce for basting.
  3. In the skillet, add 1 Tbsp olive oil and grill chicken drumsticks on medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes per side or until golden brown.
  4. Place chicken in a baking dish and pour the sauce over the chicken. Bake 20 minutes at 200°C (392°F) conventional oven. Turn the chicken over while baking and brush over with reserved sauce. After 20 minutes baking, grill the chicken for 5 minutes at 225°C (437°F) full grill mode.
