Strawberry Moist Chocolate Mug Cake

  • 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg (~60 g)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 medium fresh strawberries


  1. Spray the inside of the mug with cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, use a fork to whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until thoroughly mixed.
  3. In another small bowl, whisk together the oil and egg until smooth. Pour the dry mixture into oil-egg mixture and mix just until thoroughly blended (do not overmix). Divide the dough cake between 2 mugs and top with fresh strawberries.
  4. Cover and microwave until just cooked through in the center, about 1 minute and 30 seconds (do not overcook).


  • Do not use extra-virgin olive oil.
