Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 20-30 minutes
Total time: 35 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken wings (~2,2 lbs)
  • 80 g (~2,8 oz) thick Teriyaki sauce
  • 2 chili pepper
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) wine vinegar
  • 1-2 Tbsp sesame seeds
  • Green onions, chopped
  • Salt, pepper to taste
  • Hot water

Directions:

  1. Place a medium skillet on the stove, and heat it on medium heat. Place all the wings in the skillet and start frying them on both sides until lightly brown.
  2. Pour the teriyaki sauce, chill pepper and hot water over the wings. It will start bubbling and boiling almost immediately. Turn the heat down to medium heat, close the lid fo the skillet and simmer the wings in the teriyaki sauce for 10 minutes.
  3. In about 10 minutes open the lid and flip the wings several times. Add wine vinegar and flip the chicken wings one more time in about 5-7 more minutes.
  4. The liquid from the sauce will be used to cook the chicken and will eventually evaporate. Once that happens you will see the sugars slowly separating from the oil. This is the time for you to gently flip, move, manoeuvre chicken wings to get coated in the sauce. The extra oil will remain in the skillet.
