Traditional Oladi – Kefir Pancakes

  • 2 small eggs
  • 160 ml kefir
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 8 g dry active yeast
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil or melted unsalted butter
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • Pinch of Salt


  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine warm kefir, yeast, salt and sugar. Mix until combined.
  2. Add eggs, flour, and whisk to combine. Leave the batter for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Place a medium-sized non-stick frying pan on low-medium heat. Add some vegetable oil for frying, and add approximately 1 – 1/2 teaspoons of batter to the the pan.
  4. Fry oladi until lightly golden over low heat, about 1 minutes. Flip and cook on the other side. Serve warm with powdered sugar and condensed milk.
